Members of the Yreka High cross country team are taking that extra step to be in peak condition when they race against the best of the best at the California Interscholastic Federation Championships in Fresno on Saturday.

The Miner boys squad is ranked as the top Division 4 boys team in the entire state after winning the Northern Athletic League and Northern Section crown this year as well as a number of other elite races. The girls squad took second in Division 4 at Sections and won the NAL crown.
